In tribute to IR-655 flight martyrs

July 3 marks 29th martyrdom anniversary of innocent civilians boarding Iran Air Flight 655 shot down by the US Navy in the Persian Gulf.

A public ceremony is annually held at the place where the tragedy occurred to commemorate many lives lost.

Carrying civilian passengers, the Iran passenger plane was downed by the US Navy guided missile cruiser on July 3, 1988.
